Metro Enforcement prides itself on providing exceptional working K-9s for Law Enforcement, Military, and Security Officers. Recognized by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations, our handler course is guaranteed to prepare the K-9 team for not only certification, but also for maintaining skills for the lifetime of the K-9’s use.
Our Dual Purpose handler course emphasizes the basic elements of training by using several methods of reinforcement to achieve desired behavior. Upon the completion of handler course, Dual Purpose K-9 Teams will be evaluated in the following areas:
- Obedience
- Tracking
- Area Search
- Evidence Recovery
- Narcotics OR Explosives Detection
- Building Search
- Handler Protection
- Apprehension
In addition to providing training, Metro Enforcement offers partially trained Dual and Single Purpose K9s to federal, state, and local agencies. Hand selected green dogs are also available upon request. Metro will work with K9 Teams that are having specific training issues, as well as assisting in the preparation for certification.
